Azerbaijan commemorates journalists killed in Kalbajar mine explosion Three years go by
Three years have passed since the death of Azerbaijani journalists Siraj Abishov (cameraman of AzTV TV channel) and Maharram Ibrahimov (employee of Azertac news agency), who hit an anti-tank mine in the Susuzlug village of Kalbajar district.
On 4 June 2021, at about 11:00 a.m., a passenger vehicle KAMAZ, carrying media employees who were on a mission to perform their official duties in the liberated district of Kalbajar, exploded on an anti-tank mine in the direction of Susuzlug village. Two journalists and a civil servant were killed, and four other people were hospitalised with various injuries, Caliber.Az reports.
Maharram Ali oglu Ibrahimov was born on 16 April 1982 in Ardanish village of Krasnoselsk region (Chemberek district of Goycha province) of Armenia. Since 1 September 2004, he worked as a correspondent for Azerbaijan State News Agency (now Azertac), since 16 January 2007 - as a leading correspondent. Father of two children M.Ibrahimov was buried on 5 June next to his parents at the cemetery in Mushfigabad settlement of Absheron district.
Maharram Ibrahimov was awarded the Order "For Services to the Fatherland" of the 3rd degree by order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Siraj Abish oglu Abishov was born on 29 August 1989 in Gubadli. He started working for AzTV in 2019. S.Abishov, who has one child left, was buried in the Alley of Martyrs in Sumgayit.
By order of President Ilham Aliyev, Siraj Abishov was awarded the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, 3rd degree.
