Azerbaijan, Syria explore educational cooperation under Heydar Aliyev grant
The possibility of Syrian students pursuing higher education in Azerbaijan under the Heydar Aliyev International Educational Grant Program is under consideration.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Science and Education, the initiative was discussed during the first online meeting of the Syrian-Azerbaijani working group on humanitarian cooperation, Caliber.Az reports.
The session brought together Deputy Minister of Science and Education and head of the Azerbaijani side of the working group, Kanan Karimzada, Azerbaijan’s Chargé d’Affaires in Syria, Elnur Shahhuseynov, as well as Syria’s Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ğeys Varqouzeq, who leads the Syrian side.
Officials from both countries reviewed opportunities to expand cooperation in science, education, and culture, emphasising the potential role of the Heydar Aliyev scholarship in strengthening academic and humanitarian ties.
