Azerbaijan commemorates victims of Armenian missile attack on Barda's Garayusifli village Four years on

Four years have passed since the missile strike of the Armenian armed forces on the village of Garayusifli in the Barda region during the Second Karabakh War in 2020.

On October 27, 2020, the enemy fired Smerch missiles at a village located far from the combat zone, Caliber.Az reports.

This was another terrorist act committed by the Armenian side during the Patriotic War against civilians in Azerbaijan.

As a result of the attack, four civilians were killed: Jafarova Ofelia Majid gizi, Ahmadova Aybaniz Ashraf gizi, Ismayilov Ehtiram Khalil oglu and 17-year-old Isgandarova Aysu Rovshan gizi. Another 13 people were injured.

Following the missile attack, several residential buildings were completely destroyed, and their residents suffered serious material damage.

Based on the fact, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan initiated a criminal case under Articles 100.2 (waging an aggressive war), 120.2.1 (intentional murder committed by a criminal organization), 120.2.4 (intentional murder committed with particular cruelty or in a generally dangerous manner), 120.2.12 (intentional murder motivated by national, racial, religious hatred or enmity) and other articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

During the Second Karabakh War, Armenian troops subjected the Barda district and the city centre to rocket and artillery fire three times - on October 5, 27 and 28. As a result, 29 people were killed, 112 were injured, and significant damage was caused to civilian infrastructure and vehicles.

In total, 93 civilians, including 12 children and 27 women, were killed in the Second Karabakh War as a result of the military aggression of Armenia. Another 454 people were injured. In addition, a total of 12,292 properties and 288 vehicles were damaged, as well as 1,018 farms.
