Azerbaijan ratifies power supply, transit agreement with Georgia

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved an agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Georgia on electricity supplies to Georgia and the transit of electricity through Georgian territory.

The approval was announced in a decree published on the official website of the Azerbaijani president. The agreement was signed in Baku on May 18.

Under the decree, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Energy has been tasked with implementing the agreement, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will notify the Georgian government that the domestic procedures required for the agreement to enter into force have been completed.
