Azerbaijan to mark ADR first prime minister’s 150th anniversary Order by President

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an Order to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Fatali Khan Khoyski, a distinguished Azerbaijani politician and statesman, one of the founding fathers of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR), and its first Prime Minister.

Under the presidential Order, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, is tasked with developing and executing a comprehensive plan of events dedicated to honoring the 150th anniversary of Fatali Khan Khoyski, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Fatali Khan Khoyski — a prominent representative of a generation of devoted intellectuals — honorably fulfilled the difficult task they had undertaken in the movement for the freedom and independence of the Azerbaijani people, who were experiencing a national and cultural revival at the beginning of the 20th century. As a courageous individual with broad views, a patriot, and a prominent political figure, he was always at the forefront of the struggle for Azerbaijan’s independence and was among those who signed the historic Declaration of Independence.

The governments led by Fatali Khan Khoyski, from the very first steps of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, implemented consistent measures to establish democratic state governance, achieved significant progress in the fields of economy, culture, education, healthcare, and military development, and made a worthy contribution to the international recognition of Azerbaijan’s independence and the establishment of diplomatic relations.
