Azerbaijani, Kazakh presidents discuss plane crash aftermath, express condolences
On December 27, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The two heads of state expressed their condolences to each other following the deaths of people in the plane crash and sent their condolences to the families of the deceased, wishing a swift recovery to the injured, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Ilham Aliyev, first and foremost, thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the rescue operations at the crash site.
Aliyev highly praised the work of Kazakhstan's rescuers, who took immediate action and were actively involved in rescuing the injured passengers. The President of Azerbaijan also expressed gratitude to the medical personnel of Kazakhstan for their care of the wounded and the professional medical assistance provided, noting that most of the injured have already returned to their homeland.
Aliyev considered the solidarity shown by ordinary citizens of Kazakhstan towards Azerbaijan and their support in these efforts as a sign of friendship and brotherhood between their nations.
For his part, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed that, by his order, a special commission had been promptly established to investigate the air crash, and representatives from Embraer had already arrived in Kazakhstan and were actively participating in the investigation.
The two leaders exchanged views on the progress of the investigation and expressed confidence that it would fully clarify the causes of the crash.
