President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan honoured the memory of China’s fallen heroes during a formal visit to the Monument to the People’s Heroes in Beijing on April 23.
The Azerbaijani leader was welcomed with full ceremonial honours on the historic square where the monument stands, Caliber.Az reports, citing the official website of the head of state.
A military honour guard stood at attention in tribute, setting a dignified tone for the occasion.
In a moment of symbolic solidarity, the national anthems of Azerbaijan and China rang out across the square, underscoring the deepening diplomatic ties between the two nations.
President Aliyev then approached the monument and laid a wreath at its base, paying his respects to those who gave their lives in service to the Chinese nation.
The visit was part of President Aliyev’s official program in Beijing, further strengthening the symbolic and strategic dimensions of the Azerbaijan-China relationship.
