Azerbaijani president lays foundation stone for polypropylene, laminated bag plant Photo

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation stone for a new polypropylene and laminated bag production facility operated by “Nun” LLC in the Sumgayit Industrial Park on January 27.

During the ceremony, Kamran Rzayev, founder of “Nun” LLC, briefed President Aliyev on the plans for the enterprise. The facility, which was granted resident status in the industrial park last year, will be built on a one-hectare plot using advanced German technology, Caliber.Az reports per local media. 

Once operational, the facility is expected to produce 1,680 tons of laminated bags and 1,440 tons of polypropylene bags annually, totaling more than 3,120 tons. The products will primarily serve Azerbaijan’s domestic market.

The project is projected to create 140 permanent jobs and represents a total investment of 11.2 million Azerbaijani manats ($6.5 million). The Azerbaijan Business Development Fund, under the Ministry of Economy, plans to provide a preferential loan of 3 million manats ($1,7 million) for the establishment of the facility. Imported equipment for the enterprise will be exempt from value-added tax (VAT) and customs duties.
