Azerbaijan, Türkiye celebrate growing alliance, regional cooperation PHOTO / UPDATED

On April 2, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev hosted a high-level delegation from Türkiye, led by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. The meeting highlighted the enduring brotherly ties, strategic partnership, and regional cooperation between the two nations, while also discussing the Organization of Turkic States and prospects for deepening bilateral relations.

Cevdet Yılmaz conveyed the greetings of President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the Azerbaijani leader, Caliber.Az reports via state media.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked that his own greetings be conveyed to the President of Türkiye.

Cevdet Yılmaz stated that Türkiye has always stood by Azerbaijan, emphasizing that this is one of the main principles of the Shusha Declaration.

President Ilham Aliyev, in turn, said that Azerbaijan has always stood by Türkiye.

During the meeting, the sides hailed the successful development of the brotherly and strategic allied relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye across all areas. They noted that reciprocal visits at various levels contribute to the further expansion of bilateral ties.

The sides also touched upon the importance of holding the meeting of the Heads of Government/Vice President of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States in Baku, emphasizing that this event provides a good opportunity to discuss issues related to strengthening cooperation within the organization.

Cevdet Yılmaz expressed his satisfaction with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the meeting and thanked the Azerbaijani side for this.

Noting the excellent organization of the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in Gabala last year and the positive outcomes achieved, the Vice President emphasized that Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States has been successful.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, the regional situation, and other issues of mutual interest.
