Azerbaijani president receives Slovak delegation PHOTO
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Chairman of the Slovak Parliament Boris Kollar on September 5.
Satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations was expressed, a high level of cooperation in the field of energy was noted during the meeting. Slovakia’s participation in the Solidarity Ring (STRING) project was regarded as a very important factor in the development of ties, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani official presidential website.
The sides stressed at the meeting that the Slovak delegation would visit the territories liberated from occupation and review the ongoing large-scale restoration work. The importance of the Smart Village project, which will be implemented by Slovakia in Bash Garvand village of Azerbaijan’s Aghdam District, was emphasised.
Slovakia’s contribution to the development of the Azerbaijan-EU relations was noted at the meeting.
The issue of inter-parliamentary cooperation was also touched upon, and confidence was expressed that Kollar's visit would expand ties in this sphere.
