President Aliyev, Egyptian Senate speaker mull prospects for expanding economic, humanitarian ties PHOTO
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq, Speaker of the Senate of Egypt, on May 25.
The sides discussed prospects for expanding Azerbaijani-Egyptian cooperation in the economic, trade, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, Caliber.Az reports, citing the president's press service.
Abdel Razeq conveyed warm greetings from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to the President of Azerbaijan. He noted that the Egyptian leader fondly recalls his meetings with President Ilham Aliyev.
President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and kind words and asked that his best wishes be conveyed in return to the President of Egypt.
Abdel Razeq emphasised that the relationship between Egypt and Azerbaijan is historic and friendly, and the two countries consistently support each other within international organisations.
Ilham Aliyev, in turn, also fondly recalled his meetings and discussions with the President of Egypt during visits to Cairo and Baku.
The meeting highlighted that the development of bilateral relations is greatly facilitated by active inter-parliamentary cooperation and reciprocal visits between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
