Azerbaijani president sends congratulations to Iranian leaders on national holiday

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has extended warm congratulations to the leadership and people of Iran on the occasion of the Victory of the Islamic Revolution, marking the national holiday of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a letter addressed to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, President Aliyev emphasized the significance of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations, which are deeply rooted in shared historical, religious, and cultural values, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

"We attach special importance to the comprehensive development of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Iran. Relations between our countries stem from common historical, religious and cultural values of our peoples, who are bound together by strong ties," Aliyev said.

He highlighted the strong ties between the two nations and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to the comprehensive development of bilateral relations across various sectors, including economic, trade, transport, and energy.

President Aliyev expressed optimism about expanding the scope of cooperation and enriching it with new content, reinforcing the foundations of friendship, brotherhood, and good neighbourliness.

The Azerbaijani president also took the opportunity to convey his wishes for good health, happiness, and success in Pezeshkian’s endeavours, along with peace and prosperity for the people of Iran.

In the same vein, President Aliyev sent a congratulatory message to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, expressing Azerbaijan's strong commitment to fostering deeper cooperation with Iran.

He emphasized that the two nations' relations, founded on mutual respect, would continue to thrive, benefiting both countries and contributing to regional stability and security. President Aliyev wished Ayatollah Khamenei robust health, success, and lasting peace and prosperity for the people of Iran.

"I am confident that Azerbaijan-Iran relations, based on mutual respect and good neighborliness, will continue to develop in line with the interests of our states and peoples, contributing to the strengthening of stability and security in the region," the Azerbaijani president said.

Azerbaijan and Iran maintain close ties, and both countries are focused on further enhancing their cooperation to advance regional stability and security.
