Azerbaijani president reviews operations at industrial plants in Sabirabad PHOTO / UPDATED

On October 28, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev reviewed the operations at the Humix LLC agrochemical production facility in the Sabirabad Industrial District as part of his visit to the Sabirabad region, Caliber.Az reports per the president's official website.

Humix LLC became a resident of the Sabirabad Industrial Quarter in 2021. The company produces organomineral (powdered), chemical (liquid and powdered), and granular fertilisers. Operating with Turkish, Chinese, and local technologies, the facility has an annual production capacity of 18,000 tons of fertilisers. The products are intended to meet domestic market needs as well as for export. The plant provides permanent employment for 16 people.

The Entrepreneurship Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan provided the company with a preferential loan of 497,000 manats (over $292,300) out of a total investment of 1.45 million manats.

During his visit, President Aliyev also inspected the operations of Azera Tokhumchulug LLC, a seed production enterprise located in the Sabirabad Industrial Quarter.

Azera Toxumçuluq LLC was registered as a resident of the Sabirabad Industrial District in 2021.

Here, using advanced Turkish technologies, an enterprise for the production of standard and hybrid seeds has been established. Currently, the enterprise produces a range of seed-based agricultural products. Its production capacity is 500 tons of clover seeds, 800 tons of hybrid corn seeds, 350 tons of hybrid sunflower seeds, 2,000 tons of barley seeds, and 2,000 tons of wheat seeds. The enterprise uses seeds grown at the Sabirabad Pilot Agropark as raw materials, as well as seeds purchased from small, medium, and large farms in the region.

Notably, the number of permanent jobs at the enterprise, with a project cost of 2.5 million manats ($1.47 million), will reach twenty. Workers are planned to be recruited from Sabirabad and neighbouring districts.

President Aliyev's visit to the region continued with examining the work of the Tashobasi cotton processing plant in the Sabirabad industrial zone.

The Tashobasi LLC cotton processing plant, registered as a resident of the Sabirabad Industrial District in 2023, produces cotton fibre and cottonseed using Turkish, German, and Italian technologies.

The project cost of the plant is 3.3 million manats ($1.94 million), with an annual production capacity of 8,000 tons of cotton fibre and 10,000 tons of cottonseed. The products are intended to meet domestic market needs and for export. To date, products worth 2.6 million manats ($1.5 million) have been sold, of which 2.2 million manats ($1.3 million) account for exports.

The plant uses cotton sourced from the Neftchala, Salyan, Sabirabad, and Saatli regions. This activity provides seasonal employment for 300 people working in the cotton fields. In total, the plant has created 80 permanent jobs.

Furthermore, President Aliyev visited Firtina Su Sistemleri LLC, a water filter production enterprise in the Sabirabad Industrial District.

Fırtına Su Sistemləri was registered as a resident of the Sabirabad Industrial Quarter in 2024. The plant, with a project cost of approximately 1.2 million manats, produces water filtration and purification equipment based on Chinese technology. The facility plans to manufacture 210,000 filters and 15,000 water filtration devices annually. The products and spare parts are supplied not only to the domestic market but also exported to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Türkiye.

The enterprise currently provides 50 jobs, with plans to increase employment in the near future.
