CENTCOM chief visits USS Abraham Lincoln amid sailors’ mental health concerns
US Central Command (CENTCOM) chief Brad Cooper visited the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, where sailors had reportedly attempted to jump overboard.
Following his visit, CENTCOM’s press service published his remarks on X, in which he said the situation regarding mental health on the ship was not the worst among the US Navy’s carriers, Caliber.Az reports.
“I wish every American could see this crew in action. You would beam with absolute pride when witnessing their camaraderie, teamwork, and resilience,” Cooper stressed.

According to the commander, the USS Abraham Lincoln currently has one of the lowest rates of mental health-related visits among the 11 active US Navy aircraft carriers.
At the same time, the CENTCOM chief acknowledged that not everything is “perfect.” However, he noted that many of the nearly four million US Navy veterans would say that extended service at sea is not for everyone.
“It is uniquely challenging and tough, and every single one of us, including me, reacts to stressors in different ways,” the commander added.
