China accuses US of undermining Beijing summit consensus over firm blacklisting
China’s Ministry of Commerce has accused the United States of violating agreements reached at a recent bilateral summit in Beijing after Washington placed several Chinese firms on its list of “Chinese military companies”.
In a statement carried by the Chinese state news agency, the ministry said the US move was inconsistent with the consensus reached by the two sides’ leaders and undermined broader China–US economic relations.
“The United States has ignored the consensus reached at the meeting of the heads of state in Beijing, and has disregarded the overall situation in China–US trade and economic relations,” the ministry said, warning that the measures would have wider repercussions for global supply chains.
Beijing said the restrictions “seriously undermine the international economic and trade order” and pose a risk to the stability of global production and supply chains, while also damaging the “legitimate rights and interests” of Chinese companies.
