Media: Bab el-Mandeb Strait falls under Houthi control

Houthi forces have advanced to within 20 kilometres of the African coast, according to Sepah, which reported that the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait has now come fully under the group’s control.

The report did not provide further details about the alleged advance or specify when the Houthis purportedly took control of the strait.

The Bab el-Mandeb is a strategic maritime chokepoint linking the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and the wider Indian Ocean.
