China's J-36 sixth-generation fighter jet soars in successful second test flight VIDEO
The Chinese sixth-generation fighter jet, the J-36, has successfully completed its second test flight, marking a significant milestone in its development.
The aircraft, which features a cutting-edge three-engine design in a tailless configuration and incorporates the attributes of a flying wing, was recently showcased in newly released footage, Caliber.Az reports, citing the message of SavunmaSanayiST.com on X.

The second test flight, captured on video, reveals a less conspicuous appearance of the J-36 compared to the footage of its first test flight, which occurred on December 26, 2024, near Chengdu, Sichuan. One of the key features of the J-36 is its modified diamond-shaped triangular wing design. This innovative structure enhances the jet’s stealth capabilities, providing a reduced radar signature while also offering improved aerodynamic efficiency.
Additionally, the design increases the aircraft's fuel capacity, making it highly suited for long-range missions. The three-engine configuration plays a crucial role in the J-36's impressive performance, offering greater thrust, enhanced maneuverability, and an increased payload capacity. Experts speculate that the J-36's design could enable it to reach a maximum speed of Mach 2.5, further solidifying its place as a formidable asset in modern aerial warfare.
