COP29 President urges private sector commitment to sustainable development
Mukhtar Babayev, Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and President of COP29 delivered a video address at the "ESG Summit: Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for Sustainable Development" which kicked off in Baku on July 3, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
Addressing the summit the minister stressed the critical role of the private sector in accelerating efforts towards sustainable development.
He emphasized the need for ambitious commitments from private organizations to address common environmental challenges effectively.
Babayev called for collaborative initiatives where the public and private sectors can exchange ideas and implement best practices in ESG policies.
He highlighted the importance of leveraging private sector innovation and resources to achieve global sustainability goals, particularly in mitigating climate change impacts and promoting environmental stewardship.
