Turkic states strengthen economic ties at 13th OTS meeting in Bishkek
The 13th meeting of the economy and trade ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) took place in Bishkek, with delegations from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Hungary in attendance.
The key focus of the discussions was strengthening economic cooperation among OTS member states, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Economy, Nurlan Baibazarov, highlighted the importance of integration among Turkic countries and emphasized the role of the Turkic Investment Fund in advancing joint investment projects.
“The Turkic Investment Fund, established within the framework of the OTS, reflects a common commitment to expanding economic and investment cooperation, implementing joint projects, and attracting capital, technology, and talent for the dynamic growth and prosperity of our nations,” Baibazarov said during his speech.
The ministers also supported Kazakhstan's initiatives to create a Green Finance Council and a Council of Central Banks to coordinate financial policies among member states.
The next meeting will take place in Turkestan, where Kazakhstan plans to open a special economic zone, TURAN, as part of its further initiatives.
The Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States was established on October 3, 2009. In 2021, it was renamed the Organization of Turkic States.
