Pakistan, Azerbaijan explore trade ties, eye aviation collaboration PHOTO
On August 20, Pakistan and Azerbaijan held talks focused on implementing a trade and economic roadmap, highlighting the significance of boosting both people-to-people and business-to-business connections as the foundation for sustainable, long-term cooperation, according to a statement from Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce
The discussions took place during a meeting between Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan at the Office of the Coordinator, Kohsar Block, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Pakistani daily Business Recorder.
“The meeting discussed the implementation of the trade and economic roadmap. Both sides underscored the importance of enhancing people-to-people and business-to-business ties as a foundation for long-term cooperation,” the ministry statement read.
The dialogue also focused on the need to attract and protect private sector investment, emphasising that such investment represents the most sustainable route to economic growth.
“Discussions also explored potential opportunities in the aviation sector, with a view to facilitating future collaboration.”
Representatives of Kitchen Cuisine were also present, reflecting the increasing interest of Pakistan’s private sector in exploring cross-border business ventures and investment opportunities.
“The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides reaffirming their intent to strengthen economic linkages, deepen bilateral cooperation, and open new avenues for mutually beneficial investment,” the ministry said.
