Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have agreed to accelerate the development of transport infrastructure along the Middle Corridor, including building a ferry for Uzbekistan and establishing a joint fleet on the Caspian Sea, Uzbekistan’s transport minister said on August 24.
According to Ilhom Mahkamov, the sides also agreed to establish joint ventures and resume ferry services, Caliber.Az reports per Spot.uz.
"About 1.5 million tonnes of transit cargo currently pass through Baku Port," Mahkamov said.
Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan also plan to increase the number of weekly flights between the two countries from 18 to 40, he added.
