Azerbaijan’s upgraded 100 manat: National expression of economy, development Article by Currency News
The July issue of Currency News, one of the leading international publications covering cash management and currencies, has published an article titled “Azerbaijan’s Updated 100 Manat: a National Expression of Economy and Development,” providing a detailed overview of the new banknote’s design, concept and modern security features.
The publication notes that the 100-manat banknote was designed as part of the “Independent Azerbaijan” concept, with “Economy and Development” as its central theme.
The banknote’s visual design reflects Azerbaijan’s economic growth, technological progress and integration into the global economy.
The article pays particular attention to the use of advanced security technologies in the redesigned banknote.
According to the publication, the new design incorporates modern security features aimed at strengthening protection against counterfeiting.
Rashad Mammadov, Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), told Currency News that continuous improvement of the national currency is a key priority.
Mammadov said the introduction of advanced security technologies and modern design solutions in the redesigned 100-manat banknotes reflects our commitment to strengthening a modern visual identity.
The redesigned 100-manat banknote, featuring a new design and modern security elements in line with international standards, was put into circulation on July 15, 2026.
