Azerbaijan’s metallurgical industry output reaches $587.6 million
The value of output in Azerbaijan’s metallurgical industry and finished metal products sector reached 998.9 million manats ($587.6 million) in January-July 2026, according to the State Statistics Committee.
The agency said compared with the same period in 2025, metallurgical production increased by 9.5%, while output of finished metal products declined by 22.1%, Caliber.Az reports.
In particular, steel casting production reached 181,400 tonnes in the first seven months of 2026, up 3.6%; rebar production totalled 231,200 tonnes, up 16.3%; and steel pipe output stood at 94,500 tonnes, down 7.7%.
Production of unwrought lead, aluminium, zinc and nickel amounted to 13,200 tonnes, down 32%, while aluminium products totalled 43,772.1 tonnes, up 45.8%. Copper wire production increased 8.6-fold to 306.2 tonnes.
As of August 1, 2026, companies had 3,200 tonnes of steel castings, 15,500 tonnes of rebar, 3,000 tonnes of steel pipes, 4,400 tonnes of unwrought lead, aluminium, zinc, and nickel, and 6,081.2 tonnes of aluminium products in stock.
Meanwhile, the country produced 10,329.7 tonnes of metal structures during the reporting period, down 20.4%; 5,847.2 tonnes of stranded wire, cables and other similar non-insulated products, up 8.7%; and 3,082.1 tonnes of other metal products, down 68.5%.
Stocks of finished metal structures stood at 11,849.5 tonnes as of August 1, while inventories of stranded wire, cables and other similar non-insulated products amounted to 19.9 tonnes and other metal products to 6.9 tonnes.
