Azerbaijan’s sea freight falls 6.1% to 5.07 million tonnes

Azerbaijan transported 5.0674 million tonnes of cargo by sea in the first seven months of 2026, down 6.1% compared with the same period last year, according to the State Statistical Committee.

Oil cargo accounted for 40.5% of the total volume transported by sea during the January-July period, Caliber.Az reports.

Azerbaijan’s seaports handled 7.5466 million tonnes of cargo through loading and unloading operations over the same period.

As of August 1, 119,800 tonnes of cargo remained at the country’s ports, the committee said.
