Azerbaijan’s crude oil pipeline shipments fall 10.8% in January-July
Azerbaijan transported 19.23 million tonnes of crude oil through its main oil pipelines in the first seven months of 2026, down 10.8% from the same period last year, according to the State Statistics Committee.
The Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline carried 14.77 million tonnes, accounting for 76.8% of total crude transported and marking an 8.6% decline year-on-year, Caliber.Az reports
Of the oil transported through the BTC pipeline, 12.15 million tonnes, or 82.3%, was produced in Azerbaijan. The remaining 2.62 million tonnes, or 17.7%, was imported from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan transported 23.99 billion cubic metres of natural gas through its main gas pipelines during January-July, an increase of 2.4% compared with the same period in 2025.
The Baku–Tbilisi–Erzurum pipeline, also known as the South Caucasus Gas Pipeline, accounted for 55.8% of total gas transportation, carrying 13.39 billion cubic metres, up 1.3% year-on-year.
