Uzbek startups look to Baku for new business partners
Uzbek and Azerbaijani startups, along with private investors from both countries, have significantly expanded cooperation in recent years, with joint initiatives gaining momentum across the two startup ecosystems.
Jakhongir Radjabov, Executive Director at IT Park Uzbekistan said that cooperation between entrepreneurs and private capital from Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan is becoming increasingly active, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
“There is currently very active cooperation and development of joint initiatives involving startups from Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani private capital, Uzbek startups, and Uzbek private capital,” Radjabov said.
He noted that the growing engagement reflects strong business ties between entrepreneurs and startup ecosystems in the two countries.
Radjabov also highlighted expanding cooperation between government institutions in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, particularly in telecommunications and transportation.
“This cooperation is long-term in nature and includes long-term development plans,” he emphasized.
According to Radjabov, Uzbek startups are increasingly interested in participating in international technology and startup events in Baku, including Baku ID, which provides companies with an opportunity to showcase their solutions and establish new business partnerships.
Azerbaijani startups, meanwhile, actively participate in startup events and dedicated startup weeks in Uzbekistan, where they present innovative solutions and explore new avenues for expanding cooperation between the two countries.
