Italy remains Azerbaijan’s top trading partner in 2026
Azerbaijan’s largest trading partner in the first seven months of 2026 was Italy, with bilateral trade reaching $7.29 billion, according to data from the State Customs Committee.
Trade with Italy accounted for 24.97% of Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover during January-July, although it declined by 2.7% from the same period a year earlier, Calilber.Az reports.
The United Kingdom ranked second, with trade turnover of $3.65 billion, representing 12.5% of the total. Trade with Britain was 4.1 times higher than in January-July 2025.
Türkiye was third, with bilateral trade falling 3.1% to $3.28 billion, or 11.23% of Azerbaijan’s total trade.
China ranked fourth with $2.61 billion, up 4.3%, followed by Russia with $2.11 billion, down 31.3%.
Georgia recorded trade turnover of $668.5 million, up 43.8%, while trade with Germany fell 28.8% to $633.1 million.
The Czech Republic accounted for $599.1 million, up 1%, while trade with Romania rose 38.1% to $583 million. Bulgaria rounded out the top 10 with $563.3 million, an increase of 21.5%.
Overall, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover rose 1.3% year on year to $29.22 billion in January-July 2026.
In 2025, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover stood at $49.42 billion, up 3.8% from 2024.
