Azerbaijan, Arab Coordination Group boost partnership ahead of 2026 summit

Officials from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy held discussions with a delegation from the Arab Coordination Group (ACG) to explore future cooperation opportunities.

According to Caliber.Az, quoting the Ministry, the delegation included experts from the Islamic Development Group, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), the Saudi Fund for Development, and the OPEC Fund for International Development.

The meeting highlighted Azerbaijan’s successful collaboration with financial institutions within the ACG framework. Attendees were provided with information about the country’s favourable business environment and potential investment sectors.

The delegation emphasised the significant importance the Arab Coordination Group places on expanding its cooperation with Azerbaijan.

They also noted that hosting the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Group in Azerbaijan in 2026 would be a key milestone in strengthening this partnership.

Discussions further focused on broadening existing cooperation and exploring investment projects under state guarantees, with the Arab Coordination Group expressing readiness to actively finance such initiatives.

Established in 1975, the Arab Coordination Group is a consortium of development institutions aimed at coordinating activities and harmonising decisions among organisations financing development in the Arab world.

Its primary objective is to enhance the effectiveness of joint efforts in funding development projects across various economic sectors.
