Azerbaijani executives present Bir Ecosystem at AI conference in Las Vegas Caucasus’s first integrated digital platform
Bir Ecosystem, the first fully integrated digital platform in the Caucasus region, was presented at Ai4 2025, which is the largest artificial intelligence industry conference in North America.
Representing the Azerbaijani ecosystem, which was developed by the PASHA Holding group in 2023, was a delegation including PASHA Holding’s Chief Data Officer Valeh Nabiyev, Bir Ecosystem Development Head Mehdi Aslanov, Bank’s Data Management Office Head Seymur Shabanli, and Bir Ecosystem Analytics Head Shahriyar Mammadli.
The annual conference, held since 2018, was hosted this year in Las Vegas, attracting over 8,000 participants from 85 countries. Its agenda centered on “AI applications in business, ethics, and future outlook,” with sessions on data management and AI in education, finance, healthcare, and the public sector.
Speaking on “Data management in the age of artificial intelligence,” Nabiyev outlined Bir Ecosystem’s experience and approach. “Bir Ecosystem has unique expertise in leveraging artificial intelligence. For this, we rely on both a clear strategy and a skilled team. The platform unites the country’s top companies with strong competencies.
Currently, our work focuses on scalable AI transformation beyond individual projects. Our strategy ensures alignment across leadership, shared vision, and principles while fostering agile innovation. We see data management as more than risk control — it is the bridge enabling fast and reliable AI implementation. This guarantees secure, sustainable AI development within the ecosystem, from automating customer service to boosting operational efficiency,” he informed the audience.
As one of the most prestigious global AI events, the conference provided Bir Ecosystem with opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and building international partnerships.
According to the developers, the Bir Ecosystem brings together multiple local brands — some owned by parent companies, others operating independently, and even a few within the same verticals. In this diverse structure, the ecosystem owners aim to align product portfolios to ensure that all horizontal offerings work together seamlessly.
At its core, Bir Ecosystem includes three primary assets: Kapital Bank (Birbank), Competo (Umico), and Pasha Pay (M10), representing the pillars of retail banking, e-commerce, and online/offline payment services. Kapital Bank is Azerbaijan’s largest financial institution and a leading consumer bank, with its operations dating back to 1874.
Beyond its core assets, Bir Ecosystem integrates other leading Azerbaijani brands under one platform while strengthening its capabilities through strategic partnerships with retail giant Trendyol Azerbaijan and the public transportation payment card BakıKart. This integration enables features such as QR code payments in retail and public transport, credit shopping on Birmarket via Birbank, installment options for Trendyol purchases using Birbank cards, and a unified loyalty program.
All services are built on four fundamental pillars: Unified login, Unified bonus, Unified payment, and Unified credit platform, delivering fast, secure, and cost-efficient solutions for customers across the ecosystem.
