Azerbaijan, China’s Liaoning province eye deeper ties in industry, agriculture
The Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) has held talks with a Chinese delegation led by Zhao Hongbin, Deputy Director-General of the Liaoning Provincial Foreign Affairs Office.
According to AZPROMO, discussions focused on opportunities for regional cooperation in industry and agriculture between Azerbaijan and the northeastern Chinese province, Caliber.Az reports.
The delegation from Liaoning expressed strong interest in expanding economic ties with Azerbaijan.
Both sides also exchanged views on forthcoming events planned in Baku and Liaoning, stressing that mutual participation could significantly boost bilateral relations, particularly in the field of investment.
The Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), founded in 2003 under the Ministry of Economy, is tasked with advancing the country’s non-oil exports and attracting foreign investment.
Since its establishment, the agency has facilitated the participation of local companies in over 400 international exhibitions and trade missions.
In 2023 alone, AZPROMO supported more than 200 Azerbaijani firms in showcasing products abroad, contributing to the growth of non-oil exports, which reached $3.3 billion.
The agency also manages the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand, launched in 2016 to promote national products globally.
Alongside export promotion, AZPROMO assists foreign investors, providing data on Azerbaijan’s business climate and investment opportunities in priority sectors such as agriculture, ICT, transport, and green energy.
Through partnerships with over 30 international chambers of commerce and agencies, AZPROMO continues to strengthen Azerbaijan’s role as a regional economic hub.
