Czech Republic shows new howitzer at Paris exhibition
The Czech company Excalibur Army presented a prototype of the new Morana self-propelled howitzer at the Eurosatory-2022 exhibition in Paris, Defense Blog reports.
It is noted that the car on a wheeled chassis received a 155-mm gun with a barrel length of 52 caliber (8.06 m), which is located in an uninhabited rotating turret. The howitzer was created on the basis of the Tatra Force all-wheel drive chassis with an 8x8 wheel arrangement.
It is reported that the on-board control system of the howitzer allows you to prepare it for firing in 40 seconds. Also, the machine is equipped with an on-board diagnostic system that displays the main parameters of the howitzer on the screen. Morana has a modular design, which allows you to install a turret with weapons on different wheeled and tracked platforms.
