The death toll from a Russian missile attack on Vinnytsia on Thursday has risen to 22.
Ukrinform reports referring to the information on the Facebook of the Head of the National Police of Ukraine (NPU) Ihor Klymenko.
“Missile strikes on Vinnytsia: as of 17:00, bodies of 22 dead were found. Only 6 of them have been identified. To identify the faces of the dead, DNA tests may be needed, so the investigators are asking the direct relatives (parents and children) of the missing to get in touch and hand over biological samples, ”the head of the NPU specified.
According to him, two wanted by the police were found among the wounded, and another one was found among the dead.
“In total, 39 people remain on the list of missing people as a result of rocket attacks on Vinnytsia.
In addition, about a hundred people received injuries of varying degrees of severity. The strikes damaged more than 50 buildings for various purposes and more than 40 cars,” the official said.
The official also said that the police blocked and guarded the area where the rockets hit so that law enforcement officers could carefully collect the necessary evidence of Russian war crimes and protect the surviving premises from possible looters.
