Drone blitz on Kharkiv residence leaves three injured, sparks fire PHOTO
A minimum of three people have been injured in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region after a Russian drone strike hit a residential building overnight, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS).
The agency said the attack targeted a three-flat residential house, triggering a large fire that spread across around 200 square metres.
“Today at night, the enemy struck a three-apartment residential building with drones. As a result of the impact, a large-scale fire broke out covering 200 sq. m. Unfortunately, three residents were injured,” the DSNS said in a statement.
Emergency crews operated under difficult conditions and under the threat of further strikes in order to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes, the service added. Medics from the emergency services provided first aid to the injured residents.
