EBU bans Russians from voting in Eurovision
03 May 2022 20:00
Russians will not be able to vote for the participants of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in the Turin city of Italy.
According to RIA Novosti, the organizers of the contest confirmed the news.
“Voting during the contest is possible only from the countries that participate in it. Russia, not participating in the event, cannot vote from its territory,” the statement read.
Back in February, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) announced that Russia would not be able to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022 due to its invasion of Ukraine’s territory.
The 2022 Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 10-14 in Turin. Representatives from 40 countries will perform to claim the top prize of Europe's largest music show.
