First snow of 2023 falls in Baku PHOTO

On January 9, the first snow of the winter of 2023 fell in Baku and in the entire Absheron Peninsula.

Snow is falling abundantly in all parts of the city – both in the centre and in those parts of the city that are located on high ground – Yasamal, Badamdar, Ahmadli, metropolitan neighbourhoods, etc.

The air temperature at the moment is about 0 degrees with almost no wind. The humidity is high – up to 90-95 per cent.

In connection with the snow, the State Agency of Highways of Azerbaijan is working in an enhanced mode, to prevent ice on the roadway, the necessary amount of a mixture of sand and technical salt has been prepared, which is used mainly in areas with a high slope and sharp turns.
