Azerbaijan's classic cars collection wins FIA Founders Cup in Rwanda
The Azerbaijan Automobile Federation's (AAF) Classic Cars Exhibition has been announced the first winner of the International Automobile Federation's (FIA) Founders Cup for Heritage Popularization held in Rwanda's capital Kigali.
The award was presented to First Deputy Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center Fargan Novruzov, Caliber.Az reports per local news sources.
The award, presented for the first time in honour of the 120th anniversary of the FIA, is awarded to organizations and individuals for their effective contribution to the promotion of automotive heritage and active participation in spreading knowledge about the history of automobiles among a wide audience. It is an important element of the FIA's ambitious efforts to preserve automotive heritage and pass it on to future generations.
The AAF Classic Cars Exhibition was honoured with this award for its outstanding contribution to automotive heritage and the creation of opportunities to explore automotive history. For 10 years, the collection presented at the Heydar Aliyev Center has attracted the attention of both classic car enthusiasts and the general public.
Notably, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) is the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world’s leading motoring organisations. Founded in 1904, with headquarters in Paris, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) is a non-profit making association. It brings together 244 international motoring and sporting organisations from 146 countries on five continents. Its member clubs represent millions of motorists and their families.
