Azerbaijan, ICESCO to organise int'l conference in Morocco on promoting religious tolerance
Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Religious Institutions in cooperation with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Morocco will organize an international conference on the theme "Interfaith Harmony: Nurturing Peaceful Coexistence" in the capital of Morocco, Rabat, on December 17.
The participants of the event will discuss the impact of religious values on strengthening peace in various societies, ways to achieve religious tolerance, and initiatives that can support interreligious harmony, Caliber.Az reports, citing the state committee's website.
Information will also be presented about Azerbaijan’s model of religious tolerance and the legal framework that supports the traditions of coexistence.
The conference will involve representatives of government and state institutions from Azerbaijan and Morocco, international organisations, the diplomatic corps, civil society institutions, religious leaders, politicians, scholars, and researchers.
As part of the event, a photo exhibition titled "Common Human Values, Different Religions" will be displayed, showcasing the traditions of multiculturalism and the historical and religious monuments of Azerbaijan.
