Saudi envoy hails Azerbaijan’s enduring passion for Arabic language
The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan, Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili, has praised the continued enthusiasm for the Arabic language in Azerbaijan, noting its historical and contemporary significance during the official launch of the “Month of the Arabic Language” in Baku.
The ambassador remarked that interest in Arabic remains strong across the country, reflecting Azerbaijan’s deep-rooted cultural and intellectual ties to the broader Islamic world, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He underlined that Azerbaijani scholars, poets, and writers of the medieval period made invaluable contributions to Islamic civilization by producing seminal works in Arabic, thereby enriching Islamic heritage and knowledge.
“It is gratifying that today there remains great interest in the Arabic language in Azerbaijan: it is currently taught in 10 public schools and 6 leading universities across the country,” Ambassador Al-Jutaili stated.
The diplomat further emphasized the ongoing role of Arabic as a vital conduit for intercultural exchange and intellectual advancement. “The Arabic language will continue to serve as a bridge between cultures and peoples, advancing knowledge and science, strengthening identity, promoting cultural diversity, dialogue, and global peace,” the envoy affirmed.
