Azerbaijan detains two Algerians in attempted illegal border crossing

Two Algerian nationals have been detained by Azerbaijan’s Khudat Border Detachment while allegedly attempting to illegally cross the state border from Azerbaijan into Russia.

The detainees were identified as Makhlouf Houari, born in 1994, and Brahim Houari, born in 1996, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan State Border Service.

According to the service, the two men were apprehended during an attempt to cross the border unlawfully.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
