Tourists arrested for three months after inappropriate videos at memorial in Baku

Three foreign tourists in Azerbaijan have been jailed for three months after filming disrespectful videos at Baku’s Alley of Martyrs and posting them on social media.

The Sabail District Court ordered the detention of the individuals following the dissemination of the videos, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Investigators confirmed that the tourists arrived in Baku on August 13 for a five-day visit.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 245 of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code, which covers desecration of graves. Police officers detained all three individuals, and they are now undergoing investigation.
