Gulf travel agencies in Baku for talks on strengthening tourism ties with Azerbaijan
Travel agencies from the Persian Gulf have arrived in Baku as part of a business mission aimed at developing tourism relations with Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board organized a study tour for representatives from 27 travel agencies from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman, the country’s State Tourism Agency told Caliber.Az.
As part of the visit, the delegation explored not only the tourist attractions of Baku but also visited the Shahdag Tourism Complex, where they were introduced to the country’s winter tourism offerings, including the services provided at the winter ski resort.
As part of the study tour, B2B (business-to-business) meetings were held with approximately 45 local companies to foster the establishment and growth of bilateral relations between Azerbaijani and Gulf tourism companies.
Statistics reveal that the Middle Eastern market has shown significant growth, with 244,511 visitors from the region arriving in Azerbaijan in the first 11 months of 2024, marking a 17 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
