Georgia’s Prime Minister rebukes claims of Russian sympathies
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has firmly rejected accusations that his government is pursuing a pro-Russian political course, denouncing such claims as elements of an orchestrated anti-Georgian propaganda campaign.
In a statement published on his official Facebook page, Kobakhidze defended his administration’s policies and dismissed the allegations as baseless, Caliber.Az reports.
“There is only one reason to label our government as pro-Russian: we do not act on external directives, we have cleansed all branches of power of foreign agents, we protect our sovereignty, we do not allow LGBT propaganda, and we are not involved in the war,” the prime minister stated.
Kobakhidze underscored that no evidence has been presented to substantiate the accusations against the Georgian government, emphasizing that the claims rely on smear tactics rather than facts.
“We are dealing with Goebbels-like methods of propaganda, where first an image of the enemy is created, and then the opponent is accused of having ties to it. Such propaganda does not require any facts,” he added.
