Armenian lawmakers convene extraordinary session to fast-track key legislation
An extraordinary session of Armenia’s National Assembly was convened in Yerevan on December 16, Armenian media reported.
According to information cited by Caliber.Az, the agenda of the extraordinary sitting comprises a total of 17 items.
Seven of these issues are scheduled to be рассмотрed under an expedited procedure, meaning they will be debated and adopted in two readings at once. Among them is a package of draft laws introducing amendments and additions to the Law “On Crypto Assets” and related legislation; a bill amending the December 16, 2021 law “On Amendments and Additions to the Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia”; a package of draft laws introducing additions to the Law “On Police” and amendments to related laws; a package of draft laws amending the Law “On State Benefits” and related legislation; and a package of draft laws amending the Law “On Enforcement Proceedings” along with changes to related laws, as well as several other initiatives.
In addition, lawmakers are set to consider seven issues in their second and final reading.
