Georgian minister to face parliamentary questions on healthcare policy
Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sardjveladze is set to face questioning in parliament on April 29 from the opposition party “Gakharia – For Georgia,” with discussions expected to cover a wide range of issues in the country’s healthcare system.
According to parliamentary sources, lawmakers have prepared a total of 23 questions addressing what they describe as key problem areas in healthcare policy, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
The questioning is expected to focus on several sensitive topics, including the government’s decision not to fund new medications for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. MPs are also expected to raise concerns regarding support programs for cancer patients, assistance for people with disabilities, and policies affecting infertile couples.
Broader demographic challenges, including Georgia’s declining population trends, are also expected to be part of the parliamentary discussion.
