Indian Army to replace 60% of mules with robotic mules, cargo drones

The Indian Army to reduce 60 per cent of its mules by 2030, a critical component of animal transport convoys used to reach extremely exhausting and inhospitable conditions along the Line of Actual Control in areas ranging from Tawang to Ladhak.
The Army to buy four-legged robotic mules that can move autonomously across different terrain and avoid obstacles, Indian Defence Research Wing reports.
The Indian Army is also looking to acquire small, medium, an d large Cargo Drones that can transport utilities such as weekly rations and other items to forward bases and can operate autonomously and on pre-defined routes with a range of 100-150 kilometers.
