Bosnia’s Republika Srpska to hold early presidential election
28 August 2025 18:14
The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced that early elections for the President of Republika Srpska, the Serb-majority entity within the country, will be held on November 23, 2025.
The decision was made at a CEC meeting on August 28, Caliber.Az reports via the commission.
Milorad Dodik, a long-time separatist politician, has been removed from office following a court ruling that sentenced him to one year in prison and banned him from political activity for six years. This legal action triggered the need for early elections to fill the presidency of the entity.
