Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov welcomed a delegation of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations led by its Chair Betsy Berns Korn, underscoring the country’s commitment to interfaith harmony, regional cooperation, and strengthening ties with the United States and Israel.
The discussions centered on the current state of and future prospects for Azerbaijan–US and Azerbaijan–Israel relations, collaboration with American Jewish organizations, and regional developments, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
The delegation received detailed briefings on recent events in the region, the ongoing process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and efforts to implement the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TRIPP).
FM Bayramov emphasized Azerbaijan’s longstanding tradition of interreligious harmony, tolerance, and multiculturalism. In a country where the majority of the population is Muslim, Christians, Jews, and followers of other faiths reportedly live in an environment of mutual understanding and neighborly coexistence.
The minister also highlighted the centuries-long presence of the Jewish community in Azerbaijan, noting that their continued safety and peaceful life contributes to strengthening Azerbaijan’s partnership with Israel.
