Iran and Uzbekistan FMs discuss global security risks
Amid rapidly evolving developments in the Middle East, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry has intensified efforts to support regional dialogue.
During a phone call between Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, key attention was given to exploring ways to de-escalate tensions, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.
The two sides discussed the current situation in detail, expressing shared concern that further escalation could lead to serious humanitarian consequences and create critical risks for international security. The Uzbek side emphasised that protecting civilian populations amid ongoing instability must remain an unconditional priority.
Bakhtiyor Saidov reiterated Tashkent’s firm position: all conflicts, no matter how complex, must be resolved exclusively through peaceful means. Uzbekistan is convinced that the only reliable way to settle disputes is through honest dialogue and diplomacy based on international norms and rules.
