Irish PM to hold meetings to reaffirm solidarity with Ukraine
Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin has arrived in Ukraine.
During the visit, he will hold several meetings to reaffirm Ireland's solidarity with the Ukrainian authorities, according to The Guardian.
“The Irish people support Ukraine and its people amid Russia's immoral and unprovoked terrorist war. Shelling and attacks on civilians are war crimes and I am taking an advantage of my visit to express Ireland's support for efforts to hold those involved in these attacks accountable," Martin said.
He stressed that Ireland will support Ukraine to get full EU membership.
"The spirit and determination of the Ukrainian people inspire us all, and Ireland will render support for Ukraine's intention to get full EU membership, as well as continue receiving and supporting civilians fleeing this war," the prime minister added.
Earlier Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Martin to visit Ukraine.
Ireland froze the assets of Russian individuals and legal entities in the amount of €1.72 billion ($1.76 billion).
