In Niger, the Islamic State (ISIS) militants launched an attack on Niamey’s Diori Hamani International Airport, which is operated by a Turkish company.
Videos circulated on social media show gunfire directed at a HÜRKUŞ-C training and combat aircraft, manufactured in Türkiye and owned by Niger, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Photos indicate that attackers managed to breach the airport grounds, damaging civilian helicopters and a light aircraft.

The assailants were later tracked down and eliminated by African Corps forces.
Diori Hamani International Airport (DHIA) is the main international airport serving Niamey, the capital of Niger.
Named after former Nigerien President Diori Hamani, the airport handles both passenger and cargo flights and serves as a key hub connecting Niger to other African countries, Europe, and the Middle East.
The airport has undergone modernisation in recent years, with Turkish companies involved in its operations, including management and technical support.
